ASUS has announced new AI-powered laptops at IFA 2024 with both Intel and Qualcomm processors onboard (the laptop maker has previously announced new Ryzen AI laptops, which will not be the part of the announcements this time around).

ASUS IFA 2024 Announcements

In its IFA keynote, ASUS introduced the new Zenbook S 14 (UX5406), Vivobook S 14 (S5406SA), and ExpertBook P-series, all powered by Intel Core Ultra 200V processors. On the Qualcomm side, the new announcements include the new Vivobook S 15 (S5507), which now features the lower-end Snapdragon X Plus SoCs, as well as the ProArt PZ13 tablet.

Starting with Intel laptops – the Zenbook S 14 (UX5406) comes with four processor options, the Core Ultra 5 226V (16GB), Core Ultra 7 256V (16GB) / 258V (32GB), and the Core Ultra 9 288V (32GB). The display is a 14-inch 3K 120Hz OLED panel with 500 nits HDR brightness, with optional touch capability; storage maxes out at 1TB. Meanwhile, the Vivobook S 14 (S5406SA) gets updated internals featuring Core Ultra 226V, 228V, 256V, and 258V processors, but are otherwise unchanged (though the facelift now comes with a smaller power brick included in-box).

For the ExpertBook P-series two laptops are introduced, including the ExportBook P5 (P5405) and the ExpertBook P1 (P1403/P1503). While the P5 gets Core Ultra 200V chips, the P1 lineup will be sticking to 13th Gen Core instead (you’ll still be getting the Copilot key, despite the fact that this technically doesn’t count as an “AI PC”).

Additionally, ASUS Malaysia also updated the Vivobook S 15 and unveiled the new ProArt PZ13, powered by 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processors (no specific SKU mentioned, however). The new ProArt tablet is a sub-kilogram tablet that is IP52-rated (meaning limited dust ingress, and water sprays less than 15 degrees from vertical), and comes with a 70Wh battery that promises up to 21 hours of video playback.

In terms of availability, ASUS says all the Intel laptops will be arriving in Malaysia “soon,” whereas Qualcomm laptops are now available – the X Plus Vivobook is priced at RM4,899, while the ProArt PZ13 costs RM6,999 apiece.

Pokdepinion: Quite the lineup – Lunar Lake should look promising in terms of battery life.
