HP Introduces Spectre Fold & Portable AIO PC Envy Move
HP at the recent SXSW Sydney event has unveiled a number of new designs, which are by all standards unique. In the event, the company showcased the Spectre Fold – a 17-inch foldable PC that comes with a wireless charging keyboard and pen attached, set to become available in Malaysia in November 2023 onwards (no known pricing yet so far, aside from the massive $4,999.99 US price tag).
However, the other model that was showcased is truly one-of-its-kind: the Envy Move All-in-One PC is a 23.8-inch AIO that comes with a carrying handle and onboard battery so you can carry this 4.1kg worth of electronics and bits to anywhere you wish. Granted, you’re not using this as a laptop anytime soon – your lap won’t fit such a thing – but it’s got all the hardware that should be capable for dealing with essential daily tasks.
Per HP Malaysia’s spec sheet, it comes with Intel Core i5-1335U (2P+8E), a single HDMI, USB-A and USB-C port, onboard Intel UHD graphics, 23.8-inch QHD IPS touch display, 16GB LPDDR5-4800, 1TB SSD, Wi-Fi 6E, and dual 5W speakers. The included Bluetooth keyboard comes with integrated touchpad as well. Oddly, this PC comes out of the box with Windows 11 in S Mode, meaning the OS will be limited to Microsoft Store apps only (but you can manually override this to full-fledged Windows 11 through Settings). It’ll cost RM5799 and be available starting this November.
The company also briefly mentioned the upcoming OfficeJet Pro portfolio – launching next February – that is set to feature “cloud-integrated solutions”, such as HP SmartApp, HP Wolf Security protection and “self-healing” dual-band Wi-Fi.
Pokdepinion: Is the Envy Move practical? Perhaps – but it’s certainly unique.
