Samsung has announced the expansion of its Circle to Search feature to selected Galaxy A series smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 FE/FE+ tablets. Currently, qualified A series devices include Galaxy A55, A35, A54, and A34; the Korean smartphone maker says the Google-powered feature will be available starting from this month.

Circle To Search Trickles Down

Initially introduced on the Galaxy S24 series, Circle to Search has gained popularity for its readily-accessible approach to search – think of it as the souped-up version of Google Lens if you ever used that feature. Now already available on flagship devices such as the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip6 and Z Fold6, the company says it has been enhanced with capabilities like full-page translation, homework help (students love this), and QR and barcode scanning capabilities.

Of course, this is only one of the major selling points from Samsung’s flagships that is trickling down to its other lineups; there’s also the Galaxy AI feature set that the company has been heavily publicizing in recent months, basically replacing every single tagline of its product with the same “Galaxy AI is here” sentence, just to give you some idea. This is still an exclusive to flagships, though rumors suggest mid-range models may receive it at a later date.

Pokdepinion: I might be thinking very far, but I do wonder what happens to this level of integration when antitrust steps in, as Google is now in serious legal troubles?
