EMUI To Be Replaced By HarmonyOS Next Month
Previously it was said that the HUAWEI P50 series would be the first to receive HarmonyOS, a swap from the current EMUI skin that HUAWEI has been using. Now it’s been reported that this is not the case as the new UI will be unveiled as early as April 2021.
HarmonyOS to come in April 2021
It appears that the HUAWEI P50 series has gotten delayed but that doesn’t mean that the company will delay the introduction of HarmonyOS. According to reports, the first batch of devices that will feature it will consists of the HUAWEI Mate X2, P40, and Mate 40 series in April.
According to the source, HUAWEI and HONOR smartphones that runs EMUI 11 and Magic UI 4.0 will be switching to the new OS before the end of the year, with the exception of the HONOR V40. Despite that, they’ve said that MediaTek-powered smartphones will not be included in the switch to HarmonyOS.
