If you’re wondering what’s next for the Google Pixel series of smartphones, their roadmap to 2025 has been leaked online and it shows some interesting developments coming our way.

A recent leak has reportedly revealed Google’s smartphone roadmap for the years 2023 to 2025. According to the leak, the Pixel 7a (codenamed “lynx”) and the Google Pixel Fold (codenamed “felix”) will be launched around Google I/O in April or May 2023.

The Pixel 7a is expected to have a price point similar to the Pixel 6a, at USD $449 in the US, and to feature wireless charging and a 90 Hz refresh rate screen. The Pixel Fold is rumored to cost USD $1,799. In recent years, Google has sometimes pre-announced upcoming products in order to reduce the impact of leaks.

Apart from that, Google’s smartphone roadmap for the next few years includes the release of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro in 2023. The Pixel 8 is expected to be slightly smaller than the Pixel 7, while the 8 Pro will have the same screen size as the 7 Pro.

Both devices will be powered by a new chipset, likely to be called the Tensor G3. There are also plans for a Pixel 8a in 2024, although this may be cancelled in favour of a once-every-two-years launch format for the Pixel a series, depending on the success of the Pixel 7a. If it does launch, the Pixel 8a is expected to cost USD $499.

In 2024, Google is also expected to release the Pixel 9 series, which will include three models: the Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro, and a Pro-level model with a 6.3″ display and all the features of the larger Pro model. The new handsets in the Pixel 9 series will be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset. There is also a rumor that Google will release a new foldable in 2024, but there are no further details available at this time.

As for 2025, the Google Pixel roadmap leak suggests the inclusion of a flip-style foldable phone to be launched in the fall of that year, along with three slab Pixels. However, if the flip phone does not materialize, Google is reportedly considering releasing four non-folding Pixels in small and large sizes, with a vanilla model and a Pro model available in both sizes. The source of this information is reportedly reliable, but it is worth noting that plans can change, especially when looking so far ahead.
