The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max has been named the Official Cinematic Imaging Smartphone of the 35th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM35) – through a new collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), HONOR will be represented at the FFM35 awards ceremony, scheduled to take place at Istana Budaya on 21 November 2026. HONOR has already confirmed the smartphone is coming to Malaysia soon.
HONOR Magic9 Pro Max Makes Further Public Appearances

The Magic9 Pro Max marks a decade of HONOR’s Magic flagship series and is described as the brand’s most significant upgrade to date. Beyond its ARRI-co-engineered imaging system, HONOR claims the phone is designed to capture fast-moving subjects with precision, a capability that was demonstrated during recent motorsport events at Sepang International Circuit.

Photos and videos taken at Sepang using the device attracted attention online, with HONOR positioning the results as evidence of the phone’s ability to handle high-speed action while retaining atmosphere and detail. The device also departs from the circular camera module design of the previous Magic generation, introducing a refreshed design (read: more iPhone-like) language for the flagship lineup.
HONOR has indicated that FFM35 is the starting point of a broader, long-term collaboration with FINAS rather than a one-off sponsorship; the two organizations are looking beyond the award ceremony toward ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting Malaysia’s creative and filmmaking industry, with further announcements expected in the coming months.
No specific pricing or availability date for the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max in Malaysia has been confirmed at this time. Full details are expected to be revealed closer to the local launch.
Pokdepinion: Partnering with ARRI and FINAS is smart marketing, but we are really just waiting for the price tag.
