HONOR Reportedly In Talks With Qualcomm To Bring Snapdragon Chips

As you might know already, HONOR has separated from HUAWEI. With them no longer needing to adhere to the US trade ban, some expected the company to go to Qualcomm to bring Snapdragon chipsets to their smartphones. According to reports, it appears that could be the case.

HONOR reportedly to collaborate with Qualcomm

It was reported that HONOR and Qualcomm are working together, where the source is cited by “HONOR insiders”. Thanks to HONOR not being on the Entity List (of the US trade ban), it means that Qualcomm doesn’t have to seek regulatory approval to work with them.

HONOR was sold by HUAWEI in order to cope with the “tremendous pressure” due to the ban from the US. The former had been utilizing HUAWEI’s in-house Kirin chipsets for their flagship lineup.

If the news is indeed true, we could possibly see one of their devices to be fitted with the new and powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is this year’s flagship SoC.
