Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities has unveiled exciting insights into HUAWEI’s plans for 2024, hinting at the release of the highly anticipated P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Pro Art flagship smartphones. The launch is expected to occur in the first half of the year, generating significant buzz in the tech community.
HUAWEI P70 Series Cutting-Edge Camera Tech
Kuo predicts an overwhelming demand for these devices, estimating that HUAWEI may sell three times more units than its preceding P60 lineup. With a projected robust yearly growth of around 230%, the company aims to achieve sales figures of up to 15 million units for the HUAWEI P70 flagship series, a substantial leap from the 4-5 million units of the HUAWEI P60.
This surge in demand is poised to benefit HUAWEI’s key suppliers, including high-end lens manufacturers Largan and Sunny Optical. Anticipated to experience “significant shipment growth” during the off-season, these suppliers will play a pivotal role in meeting the heightened demand for improved camera specifications as HUAWEI strives to make a global comeback.
The HUAWEI P70 is expected to introduce a 5P lens coupled with a 1/3.6” telephoto sensor, delivering enhanced camera capabilities. Meanwhile, the P70 Pro duo will feature a 6P zoom lens with a 1/2.5” sensor. Taking innovation a step further, the Art version of the flagship series is set to stand out with a 1G6P lens (one glass and six plastic layers) and a 1”-type sensor for its ultra-wide-angle camera. The manufacturing intricacies of the molding glass for this version contribute to its expected premium price.
