In the past, mobile phones and smartphones had removable batteries. Slowly, more and more companies have shifted towards non-removable batteries, which has now become common. Recent leaks have shown that Samsung may return to removable batteries for their smartphones in the future.

Samsung Removable Batteries for Smartphone

A particular Samsung smartphone model, SM-A013F, is shown to have removable batteries. This is an entry-level smartphone that is believed to tbe the Samsung Galaxy A01e. This would indicate that the Korean giant is indeed bringing back a good ol’ feature, but whether it will be limited to just this smartphone or similar range devices is yet to be seen.

From what we know thus far, the SM-A013F is currently in development, and has a 3,000 mAh battery capacity along with up to 32GB internal storage. The release of this model could just be enough to cause a chain reaction in the industry, and may entice other companies to consider bringing back the old feature.

We will be reporting more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.

Pokdepinion: I miss having this as a standard. While battery life in general has improved immensely, being able to carry a spare battery around is kinda neat. Not to mention, it’s easy to fix any potential battery issues ourselves.
