OPPO has announced a collaboration with Manus AI to bring agentic AI capabilities to smartphones through OPPO AI Mind Pilot. The partnership will debut in AI Mind Pilot’s new Agent Mode on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 Series running ColorOS 17.
OPPO Manus Integration Debuts in AI Mind Pilot Agent Mode
The core of the collaboration centers on integrating Manus’ agentic capabilities directly into AI Mind Pilot, moving the assistant beyond basic question-and-answer interactions. In Agent Mode, AI Mind Pilot can understand a user’s end goal, break it into multiple steps, identify relevant information, select appropriate tools, and deliver a finished result, working directly with files and photos stored on the device.
An example given by OPPO involves travel planning (as usual): a user can ask AI Mind Pilot to organize a trip, and the system will locate flight tickets, hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and attraction details scattered across different apps on the phone, then combine them with relevant online information to produce a personalized, day-by-day itinerary, without requiring the user to manually gather or upload anything.
The same capabilities extend to creative and professional tasks. Users can prompt AI Mind Pilot to locate and organize trip photos, retrieve specific images, or combine existing files with online content to produce a presentation, proposal, or portfolio, all from a single prompt.
OPPO and Manus have built privacy and user control into the design of Agent Mode from the ground up, the smartphone maker claims. ColorOS 17 uses on-device models to understand and surface relevant information locally. For local tasks such as finding, organizing, or renaming files and photos, the original content stays on the device and is not shared with Manus.
When a task requires external processing, AI Mind Pilot will ask for the user’s explicit confirmation before any relevant content is uploaded or shared. Users retain control over what information is accessed, which actions are taken, and whether external processing is permitted at any point.
