Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Unveiled – Affordable 5G Smartphone for the Masses?
As the world continues to move towards 5G connectivity, new smartphone releases as well as upcoming ones are expected to have that capability. If you’re not looking to spend a fortune for it, perhaps the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G could be the one for you.

The Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is a smartphone powered by the Exynos 7225 octa-core chipset, which has two cores running at 2.2 GHz and the remaining six running at 1.8GHz. Apart from that, you have the choice of either 4GB or 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage capacity. As for the display, it will use a 6.6-inch HD+ Infinity-U AMOLED display with in-display fingerprint scanner. All of this will be juiced up by a large 5,000mAh battery capacity.
For those of you wondering about the camera, this one has a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, 5MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor camera. The selfie camera on the other hand uses a 20MP f/2.2 sensor, as seen with the dewdrop notch at the front.
It’s clear that the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is an entry-level smartphone judging by the specifications. It’s expected to be available in Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White, and Prism Dot Gray. No word yet on whether this device will be making its way to Malaysia but if it does, we will be reporting on it as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: If they do bring this to Malaysia, I would like to see how much it will cost here. Looks interesting for an entry-level device.
