Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72 Unveiled – Making Premium Features More Accessible
At the Galaxy Awesome Unpacked 2021, the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones were officially unveiled. These two are midrange smartphones designed to bring more premium features to a larger crowd, making them more accessible. Here’s what you need to know about them.
Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 Unveiled
For the most part, the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones are almost identical to each other, with the most notable difference being the display size, the former having a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display whereas the latter has a slightly larger 6.7-inch one. Interestingly, both midrange smartphones have support for high refresh rate, up to 90Hz, which is said to work better than 120Hz on a typical LCD display. To reduce strain on the eyes, it also comes with Eye Comfort Shield.
Both smartphones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G which brings up to 15% additional GPU power over the base SoC. They also come with a quad-camera system, with the only difference between the two is that the Samsung Galaxy A52 has a 5MP depth sensor whereas the larger Galaxy A72 comes with an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The shared cameras are a 64MP f/1.8 wide angle camera, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera. To improve on capture quality, you get optical image stabilization (OIS), Scene Optimizer, and an improved Night Mode. There’s also 4K Video Snap to take 4K resolution still images from videos.
Through the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, you can seamlessly connect with devices for added convenience. This includes using the SmartThings app in conjunction with the Galaxy SmartTag to locate your belonging, Music Share to wirelessly sync to another device and enjoy songs together, and Quick Share to easily share photos and videos across devices. You can even make use of Private Share if you want more control of who you share your materials with.
Apart from that, the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 include a number of features to enhance your experience. This includes IP67 water and dust resistance, Samsung Knox, stereo speakers, expandable memory up to 1TB, large batteries, and software support for up to three generations.

Both the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones will be available in Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White colour options. As for when it will be made available in Malaysia as well as retail prices, it will be announced later so stay tuned.
