As the year slowly comes to a close, it’s normal for us to wonder what new smartphones are coming our way next year. One of the most highly anticipated devices is the Samsung Galaxy S21 / S30. Now, new leaks on the Korean giant’s upcoming flagship device have surfaced, and it appears to have a redesigned camera layout.

According to SamMobile, the thickness of the camera bump on the Samsung Galaxy S21 / S30 is expected to be 9mm. This suggests that the Ultra variant, as it has a 108MP camera and periscope zoom lens, will have a noticeably thicker camera bump, likely akin to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The camera itself, which is a triple-camera setup, extends from the metal frame of the smartphone onto the back of the device.

Apart from that, the standard variant of the Samsung Galaxy S21 / S30 will have a flat display as opposed to a curved display. The back is said to be slightly curved, making it easier to hold. There is no mention of the exact material of the body, so we’re not sure if it will be metal, plastic, glass, or glasstic. It will be using a 6.2-inch display that is expected to be similar to the Galaxy S20. As for dimensions, it’s also 2.1mm wider as it measures in at 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 mm.

All three variants of the Samsung Galaxy S21 / S30, which consists of the standard, Plus, and Ultra variants, are expected to follow the same design language, with the latter two expected to have curved displays. As we get closer to its potential release, we expect to see and hear more about the device. For now, it’s rumoured that it’s expected to launch earlier than expected, in January 2021.

We will be reporting more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.

Pokdepinion: I am digging that new camera design. It looks a lot better and I hope the Ultra variant will look just as good.
