Samsung is gearing up for the release of its latest foldables, the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, which are rumored to debut in July. One of the most significant changes to the Z Flip5 is its larger cover display, with rumors suggesting that it will measure 3.4 inches in diagonal with a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels. This leaves ample space for shortcuts and widgets, as well as a large clock, making the new display much more practical than the previous model.

Photos of a snap-on plastic case for the Z Flip5 show the display’s large size and unique shape, which is a “folder-shaped” design. Apart from the new cover display, not much is known about the rest of the hardware on the Z Flip5, although it is expected to feature a new hinge design that will provide a tighter closure with a minimal or even non-existent gap.

The Z Flip5 will run on the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy mobile platform, and it will likely come with either 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage, with the 128GB model using a UFS 3.1 chip instead of UFS 4.0. Similar to its predecessor, the Z Flip5 will likely have two 12MP cameras (main and ultrawide), possibly using new sensors. The charging rate is expected to remain at the standard 25W.

With the debut of the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, alongside the Watch6 and Tab S9, Samsung is set to make a significant impact in the tech market. We eagerly await their release and hope that Samsung’s new foldables will live up to the hype.

Pokdepinion: This is always what I wanted when they brought back this form factor for foldable phones. After this, all we need to see is better cameras and longer battery life, then you’d have the perfect smartphone…at least for me.
