Rumours have circulated about Xiaomi launching updated versions of their existing flagship smartphones. Now, the leaked specifications on the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro have surfaced online courtesy of Twitter user and known leaker Mukul Sharma, giving us an idea of what we might be able to expect.
It appears that there will be one standard model, which is the Xiaomi 12S, alongside two Pro models. The former is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The first Pro model will be essentially the same with the addition of 120W fast charging. As for the other Pro model, it will be powered by the Dimensity 9000 chip instead.
It’s interesting to note that the 120W fast charging capability is exclusive to the Snapdragon version of the 12S Pro. The camera setup for all models is still unknown at this point in time, though it will likely be mostly similar to the Xiaomi 12.
If this leak is true, then we should be able to expect an official announcement anytime between now and July 2022. We will report more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: This isn’t the first time they’ve done something like this so I’d say the chances are quite likely. I just hope the upgrade would be worthwhile, or at least be similar enough to the original but more affordably priced.
