The HUAWEI MatePad 11 is the latest tablet from HUAWEI to arrive in Malaysia. It is the first HarmonyOS tablet to feature a 120Hz display, for a smoother and more responsive experience than ever before. Similar to the recently announced MatePad Pro 12.6, the HUAWEI MatePad 11 also supports the 2nd Gen HUAWEI M-Pencil for an intuitive writing and drawing experience too.

HUAWEI MatePad 11 – a smooth operator

The HUAWEI MatePad 11’s main highlight is its 10.95″ HUAWEI FullView display. Aside from boasting the aforementioned 120Hz refresh rate, the display is stunning to behold with support for the DCI-P3 gamut and an immersive visual experience thanks to an 86% screen-to-body ratio. And you can stare at the screen for as long as you like, with the display bearing TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certifications to ensure that you won’t damage your eyes.

Aside from using the display as a, well, display, the HUAWEI MatePad 11’s screen can work with the 2nd Gen HUAWEI M-Pencil that has an ultra-low latency of 2ms and support for 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, for a natural writing and drawing experience, almost like you are putting pencil to paper. But of course, a lot smarter. Thanks to HUAWEI FreeScript, the 2nd Gen HUAWEI M-Pencil lets you fill in any text field by writing, skipping the hassle of pecking on a keyboard.

It also supports various shortcuts like Double Tap to Switch, and gestures to make it easier to select text, delete text and even to add or delete spaces between characters. It can even quickly give you certain preset shapes with the Instant Shape and Instant Table feature, so you can draw perfect circles or lines effortlessly.

The HUAWEI MatePad 11 promises up to 12 hours of productivity, letting you draw and write all day on a single charge thanks to the power-saving features of HarmonyOS. Alternatively, you can watch 1080p videos for 12 hours on end without having to recharge. The choice of how you want to use your HUAWEI MatePad 11 is yours, but know that you can use it for a long, long time.

HUAWEI MatePad 11 harman kardon

Of course, HUAWEI don’t expect you to watch videos for hours without good sound. You get a quad-speaker system tuned by Harman Kardon for a more accurate response curve, with software enhancements with Histen 7.0 to deliver deeper bass and a more immersive sound field. The audio capabilities of the HUAWEI MatePad 11 aren’t limited to just the speakers though, as it touts quad-microphones as well for precise sound pickup, and there’s AI noise reduction and echo cancellation to ensure that the person on the other end can hear you loud and clear.

HUAWEI MateBook D15 – portable productivity

Along with the HUAWEI MatePad 11, HUAWEI is also introducing the new members of the HUAWEI MateBook series. There’s the HUAWEI MateBook D15 10th and 11th Gen Intel Core i5 laptops, as well as two online-exclusive models: the MateBook D14 i3 and MateBook 14 with AMD processor. These laptops are stylish and portable, and can also be paired up with the MatePad 11 for some serious productivity. More on that later.

While it boasts an expansive 15.6″ FHD IPS display, the HUAWEI MateBook D15 keeps the footprint small with a 87% screen-to-body ratio. Narrow 5.3mm bezels run along the side and top of the display. Aside from its compact footprint, the HUAWEI MateBook D15 is really portable, at just 1.56kg light and 16.9mm thin.

Portability didn’t affect its usability one bit though. The HUAWEI MateBook D15 still packs all the necessities you would need, like two three USB ports, a HDMI port and a combo headphone jack.

Up your productivity with Tablet-PC Collaboration

The sweet WiFi connectivity on the HUAWEI MateBook D15 is what enables the HUAWEI MatePad 11 and it to be best buddies. While we have already established that the HUAWEI MatePad 11 is great on its own for productivity, it’s even better when paired up with a HUAWEI MateBook D15. There are three main modes that allow the HUAWEI MatePad 11 and MateBook D15 to work together:

Mirror Mode

HUAWEI MatePad 11 Mirror Mode

The HUAWEI MatePad 11 will essentially be a secondary display that mirrors the contents on the HUAWEI MateBook D15’s screen. Via Tablet-PC Multi-screen Collaboration, the HUAWEI MatePad 11 becomes a digital drawing pad with the 2nd Gen HUAWEI M-Pencil. You can sign, add comments and draw in the apps running on your HUAWEI MateBook D15, or even use the stylus in popular drawing apps such as Medibang and SketchBook.

Mirror mode also allows for the same content to be viewed on two displays, making it convenient for tasks like proofreading. Edits can be suggested directly on the HUAWEI MatePad 11, and the changes can be applied on the HUAWEI MateBook D15, making for a very seamless workflow for the last-minute crunches your bosses might demand.

Extend Mode

HUAWEI MatePad 11 Collaborate Mode

The name is pretty self-explanatory here, with the HUAWEI MatePad 11 transforming into an extension of the HUAWEI MateBook D15. Instead of being a mirror of the laptop display, now you a second display to expand your working space. Secondary displays are very common in home and office workstations, but they aren’t portable. Combining the HUAWEI MatePad 11 and the HUAWEI MateBook D15 lets you bring two very mobile productivity devices and combine them when you need more working space on your laptop.

Collaborate Mode

This is probably one of the best capabilities of HUAWEI’s Multi-screen Collaboration feature. Collaborate Mode allows you to transfer files and content between the HUAWEI MatePad 11 and MateBook D15 seamlessly, simply by dragging and dropping. You can even use the PC accessories’ like the keyboard and mouse. You can also use the laptop to edit files received on the tablet via instant messaging apps, and then easily transfer it back to the laptop to be shared.
