CES 2020: Sony Unveils New 8K LED, 4K OLED, and 4K LED TV Lineup

CES is known for the big boys busting out their biggest arsenal coming to consumers, and TVs certainly get some special attention. Sony isn’t looking to slow down in that area as they have unveiled their newest TV lineup that will suit a variety of consumers and for next-gen gaming.

To start things off, we have the Sony Master Series A9S 48-inch OLED TV. It is of the more smaller offerings, as OLED TVs generally go for at least 55-inches, but it does come with some good features. This includes the Triluminos display, X1 Ultimate Picture Processor, X-Motion Clarity, Dolby Vision HDR, and a new Ambient Optimization feature which utilizes sensors to adjust picture and sounds settings in order to give the best experience possible.

There’s also some upgrades in the software department as it will be running on Android 9.0 Pie right out of the box, supports Amazon Alexa, and will have support for Apple Homekit and AirPlay 2. The Acoustic Surface Audio technology, which supplies sound using the screen itself, is making a return and this time with Dolby Atmos support.

The new Sony TV lineup at CES 2020 has a noticeable new design element. It’s called Immersive Edge, which refers to a new “noiseless” stand positioned at the edges of the screen to reduce its visibility. All the TVs have also been confirmed to have support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and AirPlay 2.

It’s worth noting that the Sony X950H has the X-Wide Angle technology for its 55 and 65-inch screen variants. Previously, it was only available in the larger sizes, and it’s said to improve colour and brightness for off-angle viewing.
