Fitbit has just announced a new fitness tracker called the Fitbit Charge 5. The Charge 5 features a brighter, colour touchscreen and up to seven days of battery life. You’ll get a complimentary 6-months subscription to Fitbit Premium bundled together when you purchase Fitbit’s new fitness tracker.

The Fitbit Charge 5 has an AMOLED colour display with always-on functionality and is twice as bright as its predecessor. It also comes with up to 20 different customisable watch faces as well as the ability to quickly receive and send notifications from or to your Android smartphone.

With the included Fitbit Premium subscription, consumers will get to experience Fitbit’s new Daily Readiness feature on the Fitbit Charge 5. You can use Daily Readiness to determine whether your body is ready for a workout or whether you should focus on recovery instead. Every morning, you’ll get a score based on your fitness weariness (activity), heart rate variability (HRV), and recent sleep.

You’ll also receive an analysis of what factors influenced your score, as well as recommendations such as a recommended target Active Zone Minutes objective, as well as Premium material to help you make the best decisions for your body. Daily Readiness will also be available soon on other Fitbit devices including Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Luxe and Inspire 2.

Charge 5 also has an integrated GPS, 20 exercise modes, automatic exercise identification, and an estimation of your V02 max. Plus, with Premium, you’ll get access to over 200 programmes from professional trainers and prominent brands like Daily Burn, barre3, obé, and LES MILLS‘ new high energy workouts.

The Fitbit Charge 5 also includes an EDA sensor, a first in the line. An EDA sensor detects your body’s reaction to stress by detecting minute changes in the sweat glands on your fingers. The Charge 5 now has a Stress Management Score in the Fitbit app, so you can see each morning whether you’re mentally prepared to take on new tasks or if you need to recharge.

The Fitbit Charge 5 retails for RM878 and is available for purchase in Malaysia starting from 4th October. The Charge 5 can be gotten at major retailers such as All IT Hypermarket, Best Denki, Flash Gadgets, Harvey Norman, Timekeeper, Thunder Match and Fitbit’s Official Store on Lazada and Shopee. Pokdepinion: This looks pretty good but a bit out of my budget at the moment. So far I’m pretty happy with my HUAWEI Band 6.
