The Garmin Approach S72 smartwatch is officially here to take on the golf smartwatch segment in 43mm and 47mm sizes – this new flagship model features bright AMOLED displays, a titanium bezel, sapphire lens, and a new ComfortFit fabric band built for all-day comfort.

One of the headline additions on the Approach S72 is on-wrist swing metrics. Golfers can track hand speed, backswing length, wrist rotation, and more directly from the watch; it also introduces golf biometric data tracking, letting golfers review how their heart rate changed before and after each shot during a completed round.
Green reading is another new feature, available to users with an active Garmin Golf membership – it uses green contour data to show the direction putts will break and the average slope percentage, helping golfers identify their aim point more quickly. Putting analytics in the Garmin Golf app also deliver post-round insights on speed bias, direction bias, and make rate.
Aerial imagery (also requiring a Garmin Golf membership) gives golfers a real-image overhead view of each hole to help with layup decisions and identifying the best miss zones. Driving range sessions can also be logged into the Garmin Connect app, so practice time counts toward overall fitness tracking.
The Approach S72 is the first Garmin golf smartwatch to include a built-in speaker and microphone, enabling phone calls and voice commands both on and off the course. A built-in flashlight with variable white and red light intensities is also included, a practical addition for early morning rounds, or searching a golf bag.
Battery life on the larger model reaches up to 20 hours in GPS golf mode and up to 16 days with GPS off. The titanium bezel is designed to be lightweight enough not to interfere with a golf swing, while the sapphire lens adds scratch resistance for daily wear. Beyond golf, the watch includes wrist-based heart rate monitoring, stress tracking, Body Battery energy monitoring, and advanced sleep tracking.
The Garmin Approach S72 is available from 30 October 2026 at a suggested retail price of RM3,599 for both the 43mm and 47mm variants. It can be purchased through Garmin.com.my, Shopee, Lazada, AECO e-store, Garmin Brand Stores, and all authorized retailers.
