Sony Malaysia launched two wearable thermo devices in the form of Reon Pocket PRO Plus, positioned as the flagship in the series, and the Reon Pocket 6, the sixth-generation standard model. Both devices are worn on the back of the neck and use thermoelectric (Peltier) modules to cool or warm the body surface at the point of contact.
Sony Reon Pocket PRO Plus Features
The Sony Reon Pocket PRO Plus features a redesigned neckband using the Adaptive Hold Design, which increases the diameter of the mechanical flexible tubing to improve holding force by approximately 40% compared to the previous model (Reon Pocket PRO). The neckband also features an adjustable air vent cover, allowing users to extend its length and modify the exhaust angle to suit different collar heights and clothing styles.
The kit also includes the Reon Pocket TAG 2, which is a wearable ambient temperature and humidity sensor now approximately 18% smaller by volume than its predecessor, replacing the rear clip with a strap hole and carabiner for bag or belt loop attachment.
Sony Reon Pocket 6 Features
The Sony Reon Pocket 6 features a newly developed Compact DUAL Thermo Module, using the same dual-module architecture as the flagship – two independent thermo modules alternate in operation at varying intensity to extend the perceived cooling duration. The updated cooling algorithm achieves up to 2°C improvement in cooling performance (measured after 10 minutes at rest in a 35°C ambient environment at High Cooling) while maintaining overall dimensions comparable to the previous Reon Pocket 5.
The Reon Pocket 6 also uses the Adaptive Hold Design neckband, with a larger mechanical tube diameter for improved flexibility and soft silicone band supporters at the tips for extended wear comfort. Its adjustable air vent cover allows extension, retraction, and angle adjustment for different clothing styles. Basic controls (power, mode switching, and temperature level selection) are accessible directly via side buttons on the unit, no smartphone required.
Availability
Sony Malaysia says both the Reon Pocket PRO Plus and Reon Pocket 6 are available in Malaysia, costing RM1,299 and RM999 respectively; both kits are available in Light Grey and include a dedicated neckband and the Reon Pocket TAG 2 sensor accessory.
