Visa and MOONTON Games have announced a new three-year partnership that names Visa the Global Payment Partner for the next three editions of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championships, covering the M8 World Championship in 2027 through the M10 World Championship in 2029.
Visa Joins As Global Payment Partner For MLBB M8, M9 & M10
The M Series is MLBB’s flagship international competition that concludes the year’s competitive season, assembling the best team in the most prestigious tournament in the game. Under the agreement, Visa cardholders will receive preferential access to M Series tickets across the three tournaments; they will also have opportunities to win VIP Zone access, meet-and-greets with players, and behind-the-scenes tours at the events.
We should point out that Visa’s main rival, Mastercard, actually has been involved in similar marketing efforts. It has been sponsoring Riot Games for several years at this point, having been featured in the majority of global competitions in both League of Legends (Mid-season Invitational & Worlds) and Valorant (Valorant Masters & Champions). Not too surprising to see Visa partnering with MLBB to makes its presence known in esports, which happens to be the most popular esports title by headcount.
This multi-year deal follows Visa’s initial entry into MLBB Esports at the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia. Visa has since broadened its presence within the MLBB ecosystem by joining the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines as an Official Sponsor for Season 18.
Pokdepinion: Probably a “hold my beer” moment on Visa’s part just to prove a point to Mastercard it can do esports too. I’d still argue LoL and Valorant is much better-known outside of SEA though.
