Honor of Kings is featured in the latest episode of animated anthology series Secret Level, a Prime Video series featuring various video game adaptations in each episodes. For this one – written by JT Petty and based on a short story by S.L. Huang, the episode explores the origins of Yi Xing (弈星), a new character in the Honor of Kings universe.
New Honor of Kings Hero: Yi Xing

Titled “The Way of All Things,” this episode follows Yi Xing’s journey from childhood as he masters the strategic game of Weiqi (围棋, known as ‘Go’ internationally) and uses his skills in a pivotal match to save the city of Chang’an. To reflect Honor of Kings’ roots, the animation adopts a Chinese aesthetic, providing cultural insight for new audiences while offering an authentic experience for the existing community. This style is particularly evident in scenes depicting Yi Xing’s Weiqi matches.
Along with the series feature, Yi Xing also debuts as the newest playable Hero in the game. As a Mage, he is best suited for mid-lane play and team fights, where his wide-area crowd control and burst damage abilities provide critical support. His gameplay is further enhanced when paired with Heroes like Lu Bu for high-impact attacks.
Yi Xing’s abilities include “Kiai,” which periodically grants immunity to lethal damage while enhancing his skills by applying an “Anti-Qi” mark to enemies. With “Joseki,” he places a Weiqi counter at a designated location to provide vision and deal magic damage. “Atari” creates a Weiqi formation that pulls enemies toward its center while dealing additional magic damage, and “Capture” traps enemy heroes within an empty Weiqi board.
Pokdepinion: That’s one way of debuting a new hero.
