Deltarune Will Have One Major Change In the Next Update That Will Allow it to Launch Sooner
In the latest Undertale / Deltarune newsletter for Halloween 2023, Toby Fox dropped an interesting update for his current game project that will certainly make gamers feel very excited. Let’s dive right into it, shall we?
Next Deltarune Update
Toby Fox recently sent out a Halloween 2023-themed Undertale / Deltarune newsletter for those who signed up for the mailing list. In it, there were significant updates to the progress of Deltarune. For starters, Chapter 3 is “content complete”, meaning there will no longer be any changes to dialogue or gameplay for that specific chapter. He also mentions about the team now transitioning back to working on Chapter 4.
Now for the most vital part of the update. As many of you may know by now, the original plan is to release Chapter 3, 4, and 5 at the same time, which will coincide with Deltarune officially going on sale with a price tag. The remaining two chapters, 6 and 7, will something for much later. In that same newsletter, Toby Fox mentions that they will be launching it as soon as Chapter 4 is complete, meaning Chapter 5 will be saved for a later time.
On the plus side, this means we get to enjoy new content in the game earlier than expected. The downside here is that there will be less content than we thought before. We’re pretty certain many gamers will be happy with this trade-off as god knows how long it could take if they went with their original plan anyway. No word yet on exactly how much the game will be priced, but we expect it to be noticeably higher than Undertale since Toby Fox now has a team working on Deltarune instead of being a mostly solo project before.
Pokdepinion: I can’t tell you how excited I am to see the story unfold. We were left with such a powerful cliffhanger at the end of Chapter 2, and it makes me wonder how will we continue playing, or rather controlling, the characters moving forward? Also, I want to see if they do a continuation of the Genocide storyline as well with the right choices.
