Malaysians will be among the first in the word to get ahold of the upcoming HONOR Magic V3, as the company announced that the foldable smartphone will debut locally on September 5, 2024, in tandem with the global debut at IFA 2024 in Berlin, Germany.
In addition to the Magic V3, HONOR Malaysia will also introduce two other flagship devices, the HONOR MagicPad 2 and the HONOR MagicBook Art 14.

To recap, the HONOR Magic V3 features an ultra-thin profile measuring just 9.2mm when folded, and 4.35mm when unfolded, and weighs 226 grams, matching that of a traditional form factors. HONOR also announces the new AI Defocus Technology, which aims to reduce eye strain and mitigate nearwork-induced transient myopia – using AI algorithms to adjust the light entering the eyes, they claim it can reduce transient myopia by an average of 13 degrees within 25 minutes of use.
HONOR also revealed more details on the MagicPad 2 tablet and the MagicBook Art 14 laptop. The new tablet is only 5.8mm thick, but it is claimed to withstand up to 85N/mm of force without bending (another bendgate wouldn’t be great, after all). The tablet’s back cover, meanwhile, is made from “aerospace-grade glass fiber material” that reduces weight by 45% and increases strength by 24%.
Meanwhile. MagicBook Art 14 is HONOR’s lightest and thinnest laptop to date, weighing 1kg and measuring 10mm in thickness. This design is achieved through a Topology Lightweight Structure and the use magnesium alloy body (a common occurrence in ultralight laptops), titanium alloy keyboard, and an ultra-slim biomimetic fan that overcall contributes to a 30% lighter build. Additionally, the laptop’s Vapor Cooling and Antenna Integral Design help reduce its thickness by 19%.
Both devices will also debut at the event, HONOR says, at the same time with its flagship foldable smartphone. Expect pricing information to be announced in the coming days as IFA 2024 kicks off next week.
