Independent studio Oxalis Games has released a major update to the free playable demo of Moonfrost, its upcoming cozy pixel-art life-sim RPG, now available on Steam. The update adds localization for Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese; both Chinese localizations were led by iterco, the game’s newly announced Asia publishing partner.
Moonfrost Demo Update & New Publisher
A quick introduction: Moonfrost is set in a pixel-art world with dynamic lighting, weather systems, and wildlife, featuring farming, fishing, cooking, home construction, and village restoration mechanics. Players can also form relationships with in-game characters and explore a wider world connected to the game’s central narrative around a mysterious second moon.
Alongside the language update, Oxalis Games released Hotfix 1.0.3 update which addresses music loop and transition behavior, rebalances damage and stamina costs for pickaxes and axes, refines dialogue strings, and improves environmental navigation.
Regarding its new publisher, iterco is a Singapore-based developer-publisher founded in 2019 – under this partnership, the company will be responsible for Chinese localization as well as dedicated regional marketing and community management for Moonfrost across Asian markets. Per the developer, this creates a direct feedback channel between Asian players and the UK-based development team ahead of the game’s full release.
