Final Fantasy 16 PS5 Exclusivity is Much Shorter Than Expected
Unsurprisingly, Final Fantasy 16 will be a PS5 exclusive game when it launches but what’s interesting is that the time period is shorter than expected.
Final Fantasy 16 PS5 Exclusivity
In a recent PS5 advertisement showcasing a variety of games, both upcoming and the ones already available. When it was showing Final Fantasy 16, there is a footnote which reads “Final Fantasy XVI anticipated Summer 2023. PS5 exclusive for six months”.
Previously in 2020, a trailer for the game did list it out as a PlayStation 5 exclusive which would also be available on PC. As for another game in the franchise, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, that had a 12-month exclusivity period, which makes this rather short in comparison.
With that being said however, it’s not guaranteed that it will launch on PC immediately after the exclusivity period ends. At most, it just means that the game can be released on other platforms 6 months after the PS5 launch at the earliest.
For now, Final Fantasy 16 is expected to launch exclusively on the PS5 sometime in Q2 or Q3 2023.
Pokdepinion: There is always a chance the game could get delayed, which means it will come to other platforms even later. Regardless, I’m pretty sure it will hit PC pretty quickly compared to before.
