HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version 5.5, “Day of the Flame’s Return,” will launch on March 26. Players will explore Natlan’s southwestern region, encountering the Collective of Plenty and the Great Volcano of Tollan, which holds an ancient city.
Genshin Impact Version 5.5 Update

The volcano, long considered sacred, conceals the Sacred City of Tollan, where players can uncover the mystery of the “Flamelord’s Blessing.” The Collective of Plenty, a tribe focused on physical strength, thrives in the fertile volcanic terrain but faces occasional eruptions; in this story, a new Saurian companion called Tatankasaurus will aid players in traversing obstacles and liquids.

New characters Varesa and Iansan will be introduced – Varesa, a five-star Electro Catalyst user, enhances her attacks with Plunging Attacks and restores Phlogiston when consuming food; Iansan, a four-star Electro Polearm wielder, boosts the active character’s attack and provides healing. Both will be featured in the first phase of Version 5.5’s Event Wishes, followed by reruns for Xilonen and Venti.’

The update brings back Natlan’s Bloomflower Trials and the “Saurian Treasure Seeker” mini-game, where players assist baby Saurians in collecting treasures. A new boss, the Lava Dragon Statue, will be introduced, along with system optimizations, including an improved Artifact leveling system that guarantees at least two Minor Affix upgrades when using Sanctifying Elixirs.
