HoYoverse announced the Version 3.1 “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne” update will be released on 26 February 2025 – this update continues the Flame-Chase Journey with a new map, characters, and gameplay elements.
Honkai Star Rail Version 3.1 Update
Following the recovery of Nikador’s Coreflame in the previous chapter, the Trailblazer and their companions now embark on a new mission in the Grove of Epiphany. Recently, the city-state has come under attack, and a mysterious adversary seeks to claim Cerces’ Coreflame – players must navigate the unfolding crisis, rescue survivors, and uncover the truth behind the catastrophe.
A new area will be introduced to the Trailblazers – the Abyss of Fate, previously known as Janusopolis. Players will explore remnants of the Era Chrysea and uncover the past of the latest playable character, Tribbie. As one of the two new 5-star characters introduced in this update, Tribbie a.k.a. ‘Tribios’ is the first demigod of Amphoreus and the Holy Maiden of Janusopolis; she follows the Path of Harmony and provides buffs to allies while dealing additional damage through follow-up attacks.
The second new character is Mydei, the crown prince of Castrum Kremnos. Mydei follows the Path of Destruction and excels in high-damage attacks – his combat style revolves around sacrificing HP to enter an enhanced state, allowing him to deal continuous damage. Additionally, limited 5-star characters Yunli and Huohuo will return in the first and second halves of the Version 3.1 warp event.
The update also introduces a new season of Divergent Universe, featuring a research topic centered on Amphoreus; a new “Day and Night System” in battles will provide unique state-based boosts and effects. Players will also participate in “The Awooo Firm” event, managing a chimera squad in Okhema to help them improve and rise to the top.
