HoYoverse has announced Zenless Zone Zero will be welcoming its version 1.5 update, titled “Astra-nomical Moment,” launching on January 22, 2025. The update will feature a New Year concert by Astra Yao, New Eridu’s renowned star, alongside new gameplay content, events, and character updates.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.5: Astra-nomical Moment
Astra Yao will perform at Starloop, a key landmark in New Eridu, where the concert stage, designed to mimic a star’s orbit, will host her highly anticipated performance. However, conspiracies beneath the surface threaten the event, adding intrigue to the unfolding story.
New characters include S-Rank Ether Support Agent, Astra, whose abilities include enhancing the squad with her Idyllic Cadenza state, which provides damage bonuses and continues buffs even after switching characters. She is also the game’s first healing character, with an Ultimate ability that damages enemies and restores health for the entire squad.
Joining Astra is Evelyn, an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent whose abilities include generating Burning Tether Points for powerful chain attacks and unlocking a unique animation after her first Ultimate use. Additional characters include Snap, an S-Rank Bangboo with camera features, Ellen, an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent, and Qingyi, an S-Rank Electric Stun Agent, returning to the Version 1.5 banners.
The update introduces a new parkour arcade game, Mach 25, at Godfinger, allowing players to race using various vehicles. The Bizarre Brigade mode will now feature a two-player PvE option and add seven new Dream Seekers, including Wise, Belle, and Cunning Hares members.
Combat enhancements include new game modes such as Endless Tower: The Last Stand, a phased battle system with specific combat effects, and Perpetrator Battle, which challenges players to use designated Agents and equipment. Additionally, Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault will now be updated in rotation to “offer players a more varied combat experience.”
Players can participate in additional activities, including dressing up Agents like Astra, Ellen, and Nicole in new outfits; the Bangboo pageant, “Ridu’s Got Boo,” will provide rewards such as Nicole’s new outfit, while the Elpis Ultimate Angler Championship will offer fishing challenges with rewards like an exclusive dynamic wallpaper.
