Acer Launches New Nitro 7 Gaming Laptop – Updates the Nitro 5 As Well

Acer has just launched two new additions to their Nitro series of gaming laptops at their annual next@acer global
press conference in New York. One of the two new laptops is the brand new Acer Nitro 7 while the other is an updated version of the Acer Nitro 5 series, now with the latest processor and graphics.

Nitro 7

The Acer Nitro 7 gaming laptop is geared towards more casual gamers however just because it carries that moniker doesn’t mean that the laptop doesn’t pack a punch. The Nitro 7 features a high resolution 15.6-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate with a 3 ms response time which should give you a tear-free gaming experience. It also includes the latest 9th Gen Intel Core processor as well as the latest NVIDIA GTX graphics. Though unspecified, expect maybe the new GTX 1660 or GTX 1650.

It also has quite the storage space with two slots available for M.2 Gen 3×4 PCIe SSDs using NVMe technology in RAID 0 with up to 2TB of HDD storage as well as up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. All this in a metal chassis measuring just under 20 mm.

Nitro 5

The updated Nitro 5 comes with a Full HD IPS display and has two different sizes – a 17.3-inch display with narrow bezel or a 15.6-inch display that has an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also features a brand new 9th Gen Intel Core processor as well as the latest NVIDIA GPUs. In terms of storage, the Acer Nitro 5 supports two M.2 Gen 3×4 PCIe SSDs using NVMe technology in RAID 0, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

In terms of connectivity, the Nitro 5 features Gigabit Wi-Fi 5 with 2×2 MU-MIMO technology and Killer Ethernet E2500. These features will also be present in the Nitro 7. Both the Nitro 7 and Nitro 5 will feature Waves MaxxAudio advanced sound optimisation technologies for some serious sound quality as well as a dedicated hotkey button for NitroSense.

Acer also launched a dedicated, plug-and-play streaming PC for both PC and console game broadcasters called the Nitro Stream. The Nitro Stream features an in-built capture card as well as specs like an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD. The PC is also really compact and can even be attached to the back of a display via a VESA mount.

Pricing

The Acer Nitro 7 will release in North America and China in May, Europe in June and will respectively retail for USD 999.99 (RM 4128), RMB 6,499 (RM 3993) and EUR 1,199.00 (RM 5571). The Nitro 5 series on the other hand will release in Europe and China in May, starting from EUR 999 (RM 4641) and RMB 5,999 (RM 3685) respectively with North America in June starting from USD 799.99 (RM 3302).

The pricing and availability of the Nitro Stream has yet to be revealed by Acer.
