Acer unveils the Aspire R 11
Acer Malaysia just recently announced the latest addition to their line-up of convertible computers, the Acer Aspire R 11, on the 6th of August. The Acer Aspire R 11 is a 11.6″ mobile PC that has a unique 360-degree dual torque hinge allowing it to be used comfortable in various configurations according to the user’s needs. It’s also the very first device to come pre-installed with Windows 10 in Malaysia.
Jeffrey Lai, Product Manager of Mobile Notebook and Smart Handheld at Acer was proud to share with us Acer’s attention to details to design and engineer the Aspire R 11, chiefly the engineering put into designing the dual-torque hinge, allowing the user to use the touchscreen without the screen wobbling like on most other touchscreen laptops, and also offers smooth movement when opening the laptop.
The models were able to model the laptops effortlessly, as the laptops only weigh a meagre 1.5 kg. Besides the light weight, the compact dimensions also makes it a lot easier to carry and use, not only for the models but also for users as well. :P
To highlight the versatility and flexibility of the Acer Aspire R 11, Acer actually conveyed the message through a breakdance performance. The Acer Aspire R 11 can be used in 4 modes, display, tablet, laptop and tent mode. The 4 modes allow the user to make use of the 11.6″ 1366 x 768 touchscreen whichever way they prefer.
The other specifications of the Acer Aspire R 11 include a Intel Pentium N3700, 4GB DDR3L RAM, 500GB hard disk, Zero Air Gap display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and Acer TrueHarmony.
Besides the Acer Aspire R 11, Acer Malaysia also showcased the rest of their line-up, which includes some compact desktops, a curved monitor and the various laptops and tablets in their range of products.
The Acer Aspire R 11 will be available in all Acer Authorized Resellers nationwide at RM1499. Customers also stand a chance to win a Mazda 3 through their on-going Why Not Win a Mazda3 contest, along with other attractive prizes.
Pokdepinion: I believe the Pentium N3700 is a little underpowered, and the usage of a HDD is not really suitable for on-the-go applications since HDDs are prone to shock damage. Acer should have used an SSD for a device built for mobility, but given the pricing, certain corners had to be cut.
