The new AMD Pro A12 chip runs at 3.4Ghz and of course as an APU, it will have an integrated GPU core. The AMD Pro A12 packs 12 compute cores which are made up of 4 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores. The integrated graphic processing unit is a Radeon R7 running at 800Mhz.

What makes it different from the A10 model is the presence of an embedded chip called AMD Secure Processor to support the ARM TrustZone standard for a secure execution environment. The AMD A12 also featured Heterogenous Systems Architecture (HSA 1.0) as well as an integrated HEVC video decoder.

AMD and its partners HP, Microsoft and Qualcomm share their excitement about the new AMD PRO A12 Processors, available exclusively in the upcoming HP Elitebooks 705. The HP EliteBook series pair the PROs with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon™ X5 LTE modem to provide 4G connectivity and location capabilities.

Pokdepinion : It’s look like AMD is trying to go deeper into corporate segment for this series. It’s been a hard time in the consumer market for AMD recently. How will the HP Elitebook 705 perform against its competitor? It might give a solid punch especially in tasks that are able to take advantage of HSA.
