Google will start charging 6% Service Tax on 1st January 2020
As previously reported, digital services like Netflix, Spotify and Steam will be 6% more expensive starting from next year. Google will also be collecting the 6% Service Tax starting next year for their G Suite and Google Ads services.
Google has sent out an email informing users that the Service Tax charged will be visible as a separate line in “Transactions” under “Billing & Payments”, with the invoice showing the amount of tax charged.
With Google charging 6% Service Tax on their services, you can pretty much expect that YouTube Premium will also be 6% more expensive starting next year.
Time to stock up on your subscriptions before 2020 rolls around!
