There were a lot of interesting things that happened at ServerDNA 3.0, the largest gamers gathering in Malaysia by the folks over at ServerWare. This one in particular, I want to highlight the special Beat Saber Challenge with Acer Predator.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Beat Saber is a rhythm-based VR game where your controllers act as a lightsaber of sorts, and you will have to swing it to slice through blocks representing musical beats.

During the event itself, anyone could give Beat Saber a try with the use of the Acer Mixed Reality headset. The goal here is to reach the highest score, and the person who manages to do this will go on to challenge Agoza, one of the top 50 Beat Saber players in the world and also the number 1 player in Malaysia.

Beat Saber Global Rank. Agoza at #37 while Vause is at #40.

Interestingly, the person who managed to grab the top spot here is not just some random player. It was also another top 50 Beat Saber in the global rankings and is just trailing behind Agoza as the 2nd best player in Malaysia. That player is none other than Ashley “Vause” Foo.

At roughly 5PM, the stage was set and we were about to see a clash between two of the best players around. The song that was chosen for the duel is Dua Lipa’s New Rules, and you can feel the energy in the air as the crowd sang along while the song was playing.

After all is said and done, they had to crown a winner. Unfortunately, Agoza was too much and he came out the victor. However, her efforts weren’t in vain as Vause still walked away with a brand new Acer Predator Utility Gaming Backpack worth RM569.

Pokdepinion: If you didn’t know that two of the top Beat Saber players in the world are Malaysian, now you know for sure. I wasn’t expecting a match this interesting at ServerDNA 3.0, that’s for sure. I wonder what they will have in store for us next year.
