5/10The PlayStation Awards 2016, together with the PlayStation Store campaign!
We gamers always see videogames as our experiences playing them. When we have an enjoyable time with one, we would generally consider it as a good game. Most of us don’t see what it’s like to be in the process of creating videogames.
What do the developers do? Are they putting in enough work? Are they getting the recognition that they deserve? Well, every year since the launch of the original Sony PlayStation in 1994, Sony holds the annual PlayStation Awards to honor game creators for their efforts, and here’s what happened in the most recent one.
The PlayStation Awards 2016
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan recently held the 2016 PlayStation Awards. Videogames that have been shipped and downloaded for more than 500,000 copies were awarded the Gold Prize, and 3 videogames that had the best sales through the PlayStation Network got awarded with the PlayStation Network Award.
Thanks to the rise of virtual reality as well as contributions by indie developers this year, the PlayStation Awards 2016 had 2 new winning categories added; the VR Special Award and Indie Special Award. The PlayStation VR Special Award was awarded to the 5 titles that contributed a lot to the launch of PlayStation VR in both Asia and Japan regions. The Indie Special Award was awarded to the 5 indie titles which contributed to PlayStation title lineups.
Alongside the PlayStation Awards 2016, starting from 14th December, 2016 (Wednesday), campaigns will be held on PlayStation Store, highlighting the winners of the awards show. In Hong Kong and Southeast Asia region, a special page will be set up on the PlayStation Store to introduce the winning titles.
And here’s the part that you’d definitely love. Customers who download the winning titles between 13th December and 19th December will receive PlayStation Network Prepaid Value as rebate.

Pokdepinion: I’m honestly surprised that no game won the Platinum award at this year’s PlayStation Awards. If anyone’s wondering why Final Fantasy XV isn’t here, keep in mind that the game was just released about 2 weeks ago. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled out at the PlayStation Store. Wouldn’t wanna miss out on those sweet, sweet rebates.
