Here we have another UGREEN TWS earbuds in the form of the UGREEN HiTune T1 TWS earbuds. The HiTune T1 boasts features such as superior battery life, advanced noise reduction for clearer calls and a slew of other features. I was impressed with UGREEN’s previous offering, will the UGREEN HiTune T1 be as good or even better? Read on to find out.

UGREEN HiTune T1 Unboxing

The UGREEN HiTune T1 comes packaged in a white hard box with a huge T1 logo at the front while at the back, you can find the earbuds’ specifications and some of its main features. This time around, I didn’t have much issue sliding the lid of the box off as I did with the previous UGREEN HiTune TWS earbuds.

Once inside, you will find:

  • The UGREEN HiTune T1 earbuds and charging case
  • A small box containing a Type-C charging cable and three pairs of replacement ear tips
  • A user guide

Appearance

UGREEN HiTune T1 Case Opened

Let’s start with the HiTune T1’s charging case first. The charging case has a wide and flat design and comes with a matte black plastic finish which gives it a somewhat premium look. The top of the case has a slightly indented panel with the UGREEN logo at the centre that is slightly lighter in colour than the rest of the case. At the back, you will find the USB Type-C charging port.

The case is pretty comfortable to hold however it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet. The top lid has a bit of a wobble which isn’t really too bad but it does get annoying at times. There is a bit of resistance when opening the case, a feature that I am a huge fan of. This should help prevent the case from accidentally opening when stored in your pocket or your bag. Inside you will find the HiTune T1 earbuds themselves, a single LED indicator in between the earbuds and a small reset button below it.

The earbuds themselves feature a design that’s reminiscent of the AirPods Pro but different and unique enough to stand on its own. The earpiece has a rounded design with a matte black design on the inside with an external glossy finish.

On the stem of the earbuds, you can find a noise-cancelling microphone as well as the touch sensor at the top. While at the bottom of the stem sits an LED indicator, another microphone and the charging connector on the inside. The stem has a dual-tone finish with matte black plastic on the inside and a lighter, grey colour on the outside.

Pairing

Pairing the UGREEN HiTune T1 did not pose any issues for me. The earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode as soon as you take them out of the charging case. A “BLUETOOTH ON” voice prompt coming from the earbuds indicates a successful connection. For future use, the earbuds will automatically connect to your paired device as soon as you open the case, without even having to take the earbuds out.

As with most true wireless earphones, the UGREEN HiTune T1 earbuds can be paired individually. All you have to do is take one of the earbuds out of the case and pair it to your device. Repeat the process with the other earbud and pair it to a separate device.

Sound

The audio quality of the UGREEN HiTune T1 is pretty satisfactory. The HiTune T1 earbuds are equipped with 6mm graphene dynamic drivers and have a noticeable emphasis on vocals and bass which should make it quite enjoyable for those who prefer more bassy sounds like me.

The earbuds also feature a SuperBass mode which you can toggle that pumps up the bass even more but softens the vocals. For me, the bass is punchy enough in normal mode and has a better balance between the highs and the lows. Though like House music is a lot more enjoyable in SuperBass mode.

Call quality is excellent on the UGREEN HiTune T1. Noise reduction is pretty good, I made a phone call with my car stereo blasting in the background and the person on the other line had no issues hearing me.

I experienced significant audio delays when gaming with these earbuds which honestly does not come to a surprise for me. The audio delays weren’t that bad when playing more casual games like Genshin Impact but for more fast-paced games like COD Mobile, the delays rendered the game nearly unplayable.

Comfort

For the most part, the UGREEN HiTune T1 were pretty comfortable to wear. At times, however, I experienced soreness around my ear’s tragus (the fleshy part outside the ear canal) after prolonged use mainly due to the slightly large and bulbous earpiece pushing against it. The earbuds stayed on pretty well though even after much rigorous headbanging while listening to my music.

The touch controls of the UGREEN HiTune T1 earbuds are a bit of a letdown for me. It is fairly inconsistent most of the time as it just does not register most of the touch functions, particularly when it involves multiple taps to skip music tracks or changing volume levels. Many times have I accidentally paused my music when I actually wanted to increase the volume or skip a track.

Below is a full list of the earbuds’ touch controls.

For music

  • Tap once on either side to play or pause music.
  • Tap three times on the right earbud to skip a song.
  • Tap three times on the left earbud to back to the previous song.
  • Tap twice on the right earbud to increase the earbuds’ volume.
  • Tap twice on the left earbud to lower the earbuds’ volume.
  • Press and hold the touch sensor of the right earbud to toggle between Normal Mode and SuperBass Mode. A voice prompt will let you know which mode you’re toggling to.

For calls

  • Tap on either side of the earbuds to accept a call.
  • Press and hold the touch sensor on either side to decline a call.

For Voice Assistant

  • Press and hold the touch sensor on the left earbud until you hear a notification sound.

Battery Life

UGREEN claims that the HiTune 11 earbuds can last up to 5 hours on a single charge and for the most I can definitely corroborate with that claim. I managed to hit close to the advertised 5 hour mark before the earbuds started sputtering in and out of power. In all honesty, 5 hours isn’t really that great in terms of battery life but for it to actually last as advertised is always a plus for me. It also has a single LED indicator which tells you the battery level. The indicator will start flashing red when the battery level is 30% and solid white when it is charging.

UGREEN also claims that the HiTune T1 earbuds can last you up to 60 minutes of listening time with just 10 minutes of charging. I tried that and got slightly over 40 minutes of listening time which is just okay for me.

UGREEN HiTune T1 Verdict

UGREEN HiTune T1 Case Opened

The UGREEN HiTune T1 is going for RM139.99 on UGREEN’s Lazada store and for what it’s worth, I think this is a really worthwhile purchase. It’s perfect for those looking for a reliable pair of wireless earbuds that looks decent and actually has good sound. For better value, the earbuds will go on sale for just RM99.99 this coming 12.12 on Lazada!

The inconsistent touch controls and uncomfortable feeling after prolonged use are my biggest complaints of the UGREEN HiTune T1. Battery life could be a little better too in all honesty. However, its good sound quality, its SuperBass Mode and excellent call quality definitely make the UGREEN HiTune T1 one of the better TWS earbuds I’ve used that’s at this price point.

I award the UGREEN HiTune T1 true wireless earbuds a solid Silver Pokdeward.
