Logitech-Owned Blue Microphones Is No More, Will Consolidate Into Logitech G Brand

Blue Microphones, makers of the highly-praised microphones and audio products who is currently a subsidiary of Logitech will soon be history as the parent company will rebrand its products under the Logitech G brand. This revamp will also involve another gaming-peripheral subsidiary – Astro Gaming, who also now goes under the Logitech G website.

That said, the name Blue will live on as a marketing name to denote its technology. Currently all references to Blue has been redirected altogether to Logitech G, including the website itself (Bluemic.com), as well as product listings. Existing models such as Yeti and Snowball are now rebranded – for example, the Blue Yeti X is now Logitech G Yeti X (though the Blue badge is still there, for now).

Meanwhile, Astro Gaming will still exist as a brand – and its website will continue to operate. The only changes affecting this brand so far is simply re-organizing its product listing under the Logitech G website, so it’s mostly business as usual for the high-end gaming brand.

Logitech will merge all of its Blue, Astro and Logitech Creator products under a single Logitech G software – while that sounds good on paper with an one-size-fits-all app to manage all of its products, in practice this could be another headache given how notorious peripheral companion apps has become over the years due to various bugs and glitches.
