Haier Malaysia Showcases Its Upcoming Product Portfolio For 2024
Chinese home appliances company Haier today showcased its sizeable portfolio of products set to launch in 2024, including TVs, kitchen appliances, washing machines, air conditioners, fridges, water heaters, and more. The company also announced its contract extension with Malaysia’s top Men’s Doubles duo Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik as the brand ambassadors.
The common theme of these products mainly revolves around a few things: IoT capabilities, and AI-powered features. Beginning with the new UV Cool Premium (VXA) and UV Cool Smart (VRA) series air conditioners with built-in Wi-Fi, these can be remotely controlled from your smartphone through the HaiSmart app. These units come with UVC sterilization technology, which removes viruses like SARS-CoV-2 (responsible for COVID-19) at a rate of up to 99.991% as per Texcell’s certification.
Next up are fridges, and there are three models announced: HRF-IM758LXG (B), HRF-IG585EM (GB), and HRF-IM585EM (FB). These fridges feature the Humidity Control System (HCS) Plus, which maintains humidity levels on a dedicated drawer to better preserve fresh fruits and vegetables. There’s also a dry zone designed to accommodate items that are best kept in low-humidity environments, such as ikan bilis.
The brand will be introducing two whine chillers (WS-198 and WS-118) with Natural Air Flow System to maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels; three new Upright Freezers (UR-331BK, UR-261BK & UR-181BK) are also unveiled, which are capable of functioning as either a freezer or a fridge by simply adjusting the temperatures through the digital panel.
On washing machines, the company introduced BD14266S8 (front load) and BD2178S8 (top load) models. The former features Wi-Fi connectivity for remote control, as well as Colour Ai display panel; the latter comes with Auto Dosing mechanism that adjusts for appropriate levels of detergent depending on washing load – users simply refill the dispenser as needed.
Haier also debuts the new K Series water heaters featuring shock proof technology, designed to prevent situations where electricity leakage may occur, or when Earth-leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) fails, imposing a high risk of electric shock. This is done by converting the high-voltage circuit to a safer voltage while maintaining the heating performance.
For cooking, the company also showcased a new hood (HH-GT6907GB) accompanied by three hobs (HC-Q893STGB, HC-Q872PTGB, and HC-Q872PTDG). The hood features a ‘large bionic volute’ (compressor) capable of pulling 2200m³/h of air; it also comes with AI Smart Air Flow detection that compensates for longer piping installations on certain homes, by increasing its suction power. Meanwhile, the hobs come with timer settings to prevent potential accidents, as well as flexible cut-outs that allow swapping of hobs without altering the cabinet cut-out size.
Finally, there are TVs – the company will first debut the H65C900UX (65”) and H55C900UX (55”) models with 4K 120Hz OLED panels, with a built-in Harman Kardon 2.1 sound system responsible for audio.
At the event, Haier also commenced the signing ceremony of the extension of ambassador deal with Malaysia’s badminton Men’s Doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik. The duo previously clinched the nation’s first-ever gold medal at 2022 BWF World Championships, and grabbed the BWF World Tour title at the Denmark Open this year, after 6 years of waiting.
