Razer’s newly-published 2025 Sustainability Report revealed that the company has achieved 78% of its value chain decarbonization commitments under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) ahead of its 2030 deadline. It is also named Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Gaming by Fast Company.
Among the standout figures, the company recorded a 6.1% reduction in value chain (Scope 3) emissions compared to FY2024; it also applied green software principles to Synapse 4, resulting in a reported 99.32% reduction in software emissions. On the recognition front, it was awarded an ‘A’ rating by CDP for environmental leadership and a Silver Medal from EcoVadis for ESG practices.
Razer’s Latest Sustainability Efforts
Razer also rolled out recycling programs across all RazerStores in 2025, covering in-store e-waste drop-off and device take-back for peripherals and laptops. The company had previously completed its transition to 100% renewable energy across all corporate offices in 2022, achieving that particular goal three years ahead of its original 2025 target. In 2023, the company formalized a Climate Transition Plan (CTP) that commits the company to a 90% absolute reduction in emissions and a 55% intensity reduction in value chain emissions.
Razer has partnered with the Asia Pacific Green Alliance (APGA), taking on the role of lead “Queen Bee” within the alliance; in this capacity, it will assist small and medium-sized enterprises in strengthening sustainability reporting, meeting internationally recognized environmental disclosure standards, and improving access to green financing. The company also plans to deploy agentic AI tools to simplify sustainability reporting and data management for businesses across its supply chain.
Razer’s Global Sustainability Lead Kenneth Ng says, “As we continue advancing toward our 2030 climate goals and #GoGreenWithRazer roadmap, we remain focused on strengthening our sustainability capabilities, making our ecosystem more resilient, more transparent and better positioned for the low carbon economy.”
Pokdepinion: Hitting 78% of its decarbonization targets ahead of schedule is genuinely impressive for a gaming hardware company, though one does wonder if the 99.32% reduction in software emissions from Synapse 4 is partly because Synapse was doing so much unnecessary work before.
