Intel Confirms 14th Gen Laptop CPUs & 65W SKUs, China-Exclusive Models Planned
In an event presumably held in China, Intel has officially confirmed (per @wxnod) the existence of its final generation of Core ‘i’ chips, the 14th Gen “Raptor Lake Refresh” CPUs designed for laptops (55W HX-series) and the 65W desktop non-K variants. As of this writing, Team Blue has only released three chips – the Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K, and Core i5-14600K.
So, it’s not difficult to guess that more models under the desktop and mobile lineup will also feature the same architecture. If we follow the company’s track record of product launches, there’s a high probability these models will make their appearance in CES 2024, to be held in January.
For Chinese markets, Intel has also hinted at special editions – which previously featured chips like i5-13490F and i7-13790F that feature larger cache sizes and higher clock speeds compared to their global market counterparts.
This will be the final generation of Intel’s processors to bear the Core ‘i’ naming, and starting with the next generation (Arrow Lake for desktop, Meteor Lake for laptops), the new Core / Core Ultra naming will supersede the model names.

Pokdepinion: If it’s anything like the K-series (which it will be), expect a very minor refresh.
