Intel Core i9-14900KS Surfaced On European Retailers, Hinting Imminent Launch

Just last week, an OCCT database entry revealed the Intel Core i9-14900KS processor, the ‘KS’ denoting a specially-binned chip for even higher clock speeds. It looks like the new chip will soon debut, as insider information and retailer listings have both pointed to an imminent launch.

Tom’s Hardware reported that various European PC retailers have revealed the listing of Intel’s upcoming flagship processor, and one of them was spotted and leaked by @momomo_us on Twitter (X). That listing allegedly belongs to a French retailer, though the publication has seen more such entries from Austrian and Swiss retailers. The listed pricing, while it can be a placeholder and thus inaccurate, seems to suggest a $699 US MSRP.

Meanwhile, Videocardz reported (via Benchlife) that sources claim the Core i9-14900KS will launch mid-March this year. “The Intel Core i9-12900KS was launched on 5 Apri 2022, whereas the Intel Core i9-13900KS entered the market on 12 Jan 2023. According to our sources, they claim Intel plans to launch Core i9-14900KS, a limited-edition processor with a clock speed of 6.2GHz, although we are unable to confirm whether it’ll be sold via specific retailers or an exclusive sales channel,” the Taiwanese outlet wrote.

As a refresher, the Intel Core i9-14900KS is expected to feature an 8P+16E core layout as the standard Core i9-14900K, with +200MHz extra boost clocks and increased TDP from 125W to 150W, just like its 13th Gen counterpart.

Pokdepinion: Very much in line with the expectations – just a binned chip for those who want the absolute fastest CPU.
