ASUS ROG has announced the availability of the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace and the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace, two 24.5-inch esports monitors featuring TrueBlack Glossy Tandem WOLED panels. Both models deliver a 0.02ms (GTG) response time, 1700 nits peak brightness, 99.5% DCI-P3 coverage and true 10-bit color, offering superior color quality over TN panels that is historically prevalent in the esports scene thanks to their speed.

The two monitors differ primarily in refresh rate and connectivity: the flagship PG259QWS Ace runs at a native 720Hz and includes DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20) with 80Gbps bandwidth, making it the fastest OLED monitor available today. The XG259QWPG Ace uses the same Tandem WOLED panel but runs at 540Hz, offering a more accessible entry point.
Both monitors use a Tandem WOLED panel that stacks two light-emitting layers to deliver up to 31% higher brightness, 34% larger color volume, and up to 63% longer lifespan compared to a conventional WOLED panel. The TrueBlack Glossy coating maintains deep blacks even under bright arena lighting, while per-pixel contrast helps distinguish opponents in shadowed environments.
OLED Care Pro, a Neo Proximity Sensor, and a GaNFET power-supply design with an advanced thermal solution work together to keep the panel cooler during extended use, contributing to longer OLED lifespan. Both monitors also come with a three-year warranty that covers OLED burn-in. Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology is included on both models to further sharpen motion clarity beyond what the panel’s native response time alone provides.

ASUS says it developed the Ace series with direct input from professional players – physical measurement scales on the stand and base allow for precise tilt, swivel and height markings, so players can reproduce their exact setup at any venue, while the Quick OSD menu provides instant access to brightness, shadow boost and saturation controls without navigating deep into monitor menus.
The Hue Optimizer offers 6-axis hue and saturation tuning to make specific in-game colors more visible. Three Esports Color Mode presets are included, tuned for different FPS scenarios with game-specific profiles optimized for CS2, PUBG and VALORANT. The PG259QWS Ace adds an exclusive Position Sensor that displays tilt angle, height and monitor-to-user distance on-screen, allowing tournament players to replicate their physical setup exactly from one event to the next.

Pokdepinion: That sounds like the end for TN panels.
