NVIDIA has announced a new update for its Ray Reconstruction technology officially named “DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction”. Scheduled for release in August 2026, the newly-updated feature introduces a second-gen transformer model designed to improve image quality in ray-traced and path-traced games.

According to NVIDIA, the updated model delivers 35% more compute capability and processes 20% more parameters while maintaining performance levels similar to the previous version. This results in improved lighting accuracy, clearer motion rendering, greater temporal stability, and more precise image reconstruction through an expanded training dataset. The company says developers will also gain additional control over temporal accumulation settings for image quality tuning.
The new DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction model will be available through the NVIDIA app for all GeForce RTX GPUs and is expected to support 27 titles at launch. Supported games include Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Outlaws, DOOM: The Dark Ages, F1 25, PRAGMATA, Crimson Desert, Half-Life 2 RTX, Resident Evil Requiem, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, among others (the company also announced it has hit the 1,000 mark with the amount of RTX-capable games).

Beyond gaming, NVIDIA confirmed that DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is being integrated into Blender Cycles as a new denoising mode. Compared to previous denoising methods, NVIDIA’s solution is capable of delivering near-final render quality in real time while maintaining interactive viewport performance during scene development, which allows creators to iterate immediately without wasting seconds on every viewport change. NVIDIA says the feature will be available with Blender 5.3 released later this year.
Game Development Updates

For game developers, NVIDIA introduced several updates across its RTX platform. NVIDIA ACE now supports multilingual AI interactions through new language, speech recognition, and speech synthesis models, while updated NVIDIA In-Game Inferencing (NVIGI) SDK 1.6 includes support for Qwen 3.5 4B, which supports 201 languages and dialects, NVIDIA Riva Parakeet TDT 600M automatic speech recognition supporting 25 languages, and Chatterbox Multilingual 500M voice synthesis supporting 24 languages.
NVIDIA has also released a new DLSS 4.5 plugin for Unreal Engine, providing support for Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, the new 6x Multi Frame Generation mode, and the second-generation transformer model for Super Resolution. Built on NVIDIA Streamline, the plugin offers developers a unified integration path for DLSS technologies including Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Super Resolution.
In addition, NVIDIA released version 5.7.4 of its RTX Branch for Unreal Engine, bringing compatibility with Unreal Engine 5.7.4 and a range of stability improvements. Updates include fixes for RTX Mega Geometry shader compilation, improvements to Opacity Micro-Maps for ray-traced foliage rendering, enhanced compatibility with Unreal Engine’s Substrate material framework, NvAPI integration fixes, and updated documentation.
Pokdepinion: Small but welcomed improvement nonetheless.
