Here comes the official announcement, sort of. Intel recently released a video on YouTube explaining the feature of its new Core Ultra 200V processors, specifically its graphics architecture, Xe2. At the end of the video, Intel fellow Tom Petersen teased: “Battlemage is next.”
Battlemage Is Official
At the end of the video titled “Architecture All Access: Intel Core Ultra 200V series processors: Gaming on the Go”, here’s what Petersen said in full:
Now, as you know, Xe2 is our new architecture appearing first in our new Core Ultra processors, codenamed Lunar Lake. But that’s just the beginning – stay tuned, Battlemage is next.
The video ends there, but it’s safe to say that what’s next will come very soon, especially given that retail models of the Arc B580 GPU has already been spotted in retailers. Other leaks suggests that Intel will release its first-party model (referred as Limited Edition) with the pricing around $250 (~RM1,109), which gets you 20 Xe2-Cores, 2.85GHz clock speed, 12GB VRAM, and likely less than 225W of TDP.
Expect the release to happen sometime in the coming December, and if anything – this firmly puts the rumors of Team Blue giving up its graphics division to rest.
