MSI Unveils RTX 4070 GAMING TRIO & VENTUS series GPUs

Pricing will start at the same MSRP as NVIDIA’s own pricing.

MSI Unveils RTX 4070 GAMING TRIO & VENTUS series GPUs

MSI has officially launched six new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 models, with two falling under GAMING TRIO series whereas the other four belongs to the entry-level VENTUS series. As RTX 4070 offers two variants with different TGP ratings, there are some crucial differences between two GAMING TRIO models.

Sitting on the top is the GAMING X TRIO model with additional 15W TGP available totaling 215W, which requires the newer 16-pin 12VHPWR connector to operate. Both models on the GAMING TRIO series maintains same feature set as its RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 counterparts with TORX Fan 5.0 and TRI FROZR 3 cooling system, though the standard GAMING TRIO model will use the 200W TGP variant and comes with legacy PCIe 8-pin connector instead.

Down the line, the VENTUS 3X and VENTUS 2X (and their respective OC variants) are respectively the triple-fan and dual-fan model that caters to budget-focused audience. Both cards feature the same 200W TGP AD104 silicon with 8-pin PCIe power connector, which leaves the number of fans being their biggest difference.

MSI didn’t specify on the clockspeeds on all models, so we can’t say if some models may get factory overclocks. The GAMING TRIO series will be a big card – measuring at a massive 349mm in length, while VENTUS 3X models will be 308mm long and the entry-level VENTUS 2X is the shortest at just 242mm long.

Both cards will be available starting today, however MSI didn’t specify exact pricing aside from the $599 starting price as per NVIDIA’s official pricing – so keep your eyes peeled as the company announces local pricing down the line.

Pokdepinion: For a 215W card, having an oversized 349mm long cooler sure sounds like overkill.
