NVIDIA Reportedly Ceasing RTX 3060’s Production

The king of Steam Surveys since October 2023 might see its demise very soon, as reports from Board Channels (who obtains information from various AIBs) indicate that NVIDIA has informed AIBs this is their last chance to place orders for the RTX 3060 series.

That being said, whilst NVIDIA is ending the production of this Ampere-powered mid-range GPU soon, you will still be able to see this GPU on product shelves in the coming months. Supply chain may take a while to reflect the latest market decisions from the company, and in this case, it’ll take some time for Team Green to complete the last orders, delivered to respective AIBs, and gradually deplete the stocks as the successor takes over the segment.

The RTX 3060 still remains as the most popular GPU today among Steam (PC) users, with the latest reported market share of 5.88% in July 2024. This was a full percentage lower than its March 2024 performance, capturing 6.92% of the user base while leaving the previous champion, the GTX 1650, at a distant second. The RTX 3060’s successor, RTX 4060, is gaining traction as it charges through the chart in the past few months.

Pokdepinion: The 12GB variant is likely one reason that made it popular, not sure if RTX 4060 will have the same magic like its predecessor does.
