The theme for MSI’s Computex 2024 showcase this year is, surprise surprise, AI. Sure – everyone is trying to compete in the AI race right now regardless of what product you offer, but MSI is certainly one that commits the hardest from what we can tell thus far. If you happen to be on site, here’s what you’ll see at booth M0806 at Nangang Exhibition Center’s 4th floor from June 4-7.

Starting off with MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo – this laptop clinched the Computex Best Choice Gold Award thanks to its massive 99.9Wh battery that lasts 19 hours on a single charge, while having a weight of just 1.5kg thanks to the use of magnesium alloy in the chassis. Speaking of which, the company will be showcasing a new app called MSI AI Artist, which generates images and text via prompts to a Photoshop file for further editing.

MSI Claw will be making an appearance here, though it is not the handheld’s first major appearance in international trade shows. In fact, it was debuted in CES earlier this year, though it has since received a fair bit of criticism for its underpowered performance. Despite that, the company says driver updates and optimizations have allowed it to claw back (pun intended) some of the performance deficits.

On the HPC side of things, the G4101, G4201 rackmount platforms and the S2301 memory expansion server that uses the new Compute eXpress Link (CXL) technology to massively increase memory pool for AI-heavy workloads.

Moving on to desktop PCs – the MEG Vision X AI is, as the name implies, chock-full of AI. The use case for AI involves resource allocation between its hardware, plus the MSI Artist and MSI Chat app that does generative AI locally. The company has gone even further to install an onboard speaker so it can speak via Copilot, which is described as “further blurring the line between artificial intelligence and humans.” Oh, there’s also MAG INFINITE E1 tower PC that gets glossed over in the press release.

AI marketing aside, there are several new desktop products that comes without it (you may have differing opinions based on your take on the AI hype). The company will be presenting motherboards, including the Z790 PROJECT ZERO featuring backside connectors; also, MSI has made an app called DigiME that lets you “discover the thrill of becoming a virtual streamer yourself.” Is AI involved? It wasn’t explicitly mentioned, but we think it could be the case.

Other DIY components set to be showcased here includes MAG CoreLiquid I360 White AIO cooler, MAG Pano 100L PZ case, and the MAG A850GL PCIE5 power supply. For monitors, MSI is bringing the new MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED gaming monitor and the MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 to the exhibition; as for the input devices, expect new models to appear under the STRIKE (keyboards), VERSA (mice), FORCE (controllers), and MAESTRO (headsets) series.

For storage, MSI is bringing a few interesting designs: the first one is the DATAMAG portable SSD that integrates Apple’s MagSafe, allowing the drive to magnetically attach to iPhones. There’s also the DATAVAULT SSD enclosure that features a built-in tracker which can be tracked via Apple’s Find My feature. The SPATIUM lineup gets the new M560 model that goes DRAM-less with a new Phison E31T controller, achieving 10GB/s over PCIe 5.0 connection. MSI will also be demonstrating the world’s first non-metal vapor chamber solution for SSDs.

Finally, the company will showcase the Roamii Wi-Fi 7 mesh system with 320MHz band, 4K QAM, Multi-RU, Multi-link Operation (MLO), and 10Gbps LAN; there’s also the BE6500 USB Wi-Fi adapter with Wi-Fi 7 and associated drivers all built-in for instant plug-and-play use.

Pokdepinion: SSD with built-in trackers is pretty neat, actually.
