In the biggest event within the fighting game community that is EVO 2026, Razer has announced the new Razer Kitsune Ryu Edition as its new limited-edition variant of its leverless fight stick for PS5 and PC. The controller features a dye-sublimated aluminum top plate with a black-and-white design and red accents based on Street Fighter’s longstanding character, Ryu.
Razer Kitsune Ryu Edition
The Razer Kitsune Ryu Edition retains the core hardware of the original Razer Kitsune. In place of a traditional joystick, it uses a quad directional button layout intended to reduce input errors associated with conventional fight sticks. Inputs are handled by Razer low-profile linear optical switches with a shortened actuation height for faster response times. Onboard you’ll also find a Tournament Lock switch, which disables non-essential buttons for use during competition.
While controllers of this kind are usually bulky, being a leverless design allows the chassis to be slim, which makes transport between home setups and tournament venues a relatively simple affair despite their horizontally large footprint. It comes with a detachable USB Type-C cable, though with a built-in security clasp to keep the connection intact in case the cable gets pulled.
Naturally, Razer Chroma RGB lighting is built-in, with multiple color combinations and pre-loaded lighting effects configurable through Razer’s software. While the Ryu Edition comes with a special artwork on its aluminum top plate, it is removable in case you have other designs in mind.
The Razer Kitsune Ryu Edition is now available for pre-order at RM1,429, which happens to be the cheapest variant among all options that include standard black chassis, Esports Green Edition, and the pricier 2XKO Edition dedicated to Riot Games’ FGC entry. It is expected to be shipped starting 10 July 2026.
