Lexar has just announced DDR4-2666 memory for both desktops and laptops, in the standard U-DIMM and SO-DIMM form factors. While the memory’s speeds aren’t exactly mind-blowing, Lexar is new to the memory game, with them previously releasing a bunch of NAND-based products, including SSDs, memory cards and also USB drives.

Diving deeper into the specifications, we see that the memory run at DDR4-2666 CL19, which is actually really quite slow. The plus side is that they are rated to run at the 1.2V spec. This is basic memory, so not exactly the memory you would get for your high-end gaming rig.

Lexar DDR4 SO-DIMM

Lexar will be offering the U-DIMM sticks ranging from 8GB to 32GB, while the SO-DIMM variant will start from 4GB all the way up to 32GB per DIMM. Prices appear pretty reasonable:

Lexar DDR4-2666 Memory for Desktop Price

  • 8GB: $32.99 (~RM141)
  • 16GB: $64.99 (~RM278)
  • 32GB: $149.99 (~RM642)

Lexar DDR4-2666 Memory for Laptop Price

  • 4GB: $19.99 (~RM86)
  • 8GB: $29.99 (~RM128)
  • 16GB: $64.99 (~RM278)

Lexar DDR4 U-DIMM

Lexar did not reveal what memory chips are they using, but you can rest assured as Lexar will be offering the industry-standard lifetime warranty on their RAM. Lexar plans on offering their memory products by this month, so stay tuned for more information about their DRAM.
