New WD My Passport SSD now available from RM599
External drives are a great way to store your files and carry them with you, as they offer more capacity than your average USB thumb drive while being faster as well. Western Digital’s new WD My Passport SSD gives you exactly that: huge capacities up to 2TB and blazing speeds of up to 1050MB/s.
The new WD My Passport SSD features a sleek metal shell that protects the solid state storage inside while offering a premium look and feel. It sports smooth rounded corners and soft edges contrasted by waving ridges to make it easy to carry around, while also being instantly recognizable as a member of the WD My Passport family. Speaking of being easy to carry around, you don’t have to worry about dropping it, as it is drop resistant up to 1.98m.
The aforementioned high speeds are enabled by the use of PCIe NVMe technology inside along with the latest USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) interface. Read speeds reach up to 1050MB/s while write speeds can achieve 1000MB/s. The WD My Passport SSD is also secured with 256-bit AES hardware encryption to ensure that your precious data will be well protected.
You can get the WD My Passport SSD in 500GB and 1TB capacities for now, with the 2TB option arriving later this year. More colors including blue, red and gold will also be coming, but Gray is available now from LazMall, Shopee Mall and select retailers. Pricing are as follows:
- 500GB: RM599
- 1TB: RM1069
- 2TB: RM1999
All of the WD My Passport SSDs are covered by a five-year limited warranty.
Pokdepinion: It is pretty costly for the storage… Would probably prefer getting a standard M.2 SSD like the WD Blue SN550 and throwing it into an enclosure.
